Spellbound (2022)
Spellbound tells the story of Elian, a teenager who comes of age using her magical powers to defend her family when the opposing forces of light and darkness threaten to divide her kingdom.
Spellbound (originally titled as The Unbreakable Spell[2]) is a computer-animated musical fantasy comedy–adventure film directed by Vicky Jenson and co-directed by John Ripa from a screenplay by Linda Woolverton, Lauren Hynek and Elizabeth Martin and a story by Woolverton and Douglas Carter Beane. Produced by Skydance Animation, the film features the voices of Rachel Zegler, Rafael Dovarganes, Nicole Kidman, Javier Bardem, Elijah Kelley, Josh Gad, Quinta Brunson, Cristela Alonzo, John Lithgow, Jenifer Lewis, Keegan-Michael Key, Jordan Peele, Nathan Lane, André De Shields, Jordan Fisher, Patrick Warburton, John Ratzenberger, Richard Roxburgh and Emma Thompson. Its music score was composed by Alan Menken, with songs written by Menken and two lyricist Stephen Schwartz and Glenn Slater, who had previously collaborated on Life with Mikey (1993), Pocahontas (1995), The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1996), Home on the Range, Noel (both 2004), Enchanted (2007), Tangled (2010), Sausage Party (2016) Holmes & Watson (2018) and Disenchanted (2022).[1] The pair later also collaborated on Disney’s live-action adaptation upcoming film Hunchback.
